Christmas Morning!

The boys woke us up bright and early Christmas morning! They were so excited to go see if Santa came to our house. They patiently waited on the stairs until Dan and I were ready for them to come downstairs.
I got this cute video of them checking out what Santa left them! I love how excited Austin was about the missing cookies and milk!
Ethan loves his new bike! It's still a little big for him but he told me that it's because Santa knows that he's growing up! Getting a non-blurry picture of Austin opening presents was practically impossible but he loved the Little People airplane and figures from Santa too!

Dan got one of his favorite movies-Newsies!
The boys loved opening their stockings and finding the Pez dispensers, candy, and glowsticks left for them.

Dan ended up with new cologne, movies, and clothes while I was surprised with a new set of kitchen knives, cutting boards, and pots and pans!
We took a walk after a delicious pancake breakfast to the mailbox and Ethan got to ride his new bike. Now that Ethan has a new bike, his tricycle has been passed down to Austin.

We got to Skype with family and enjoy spending our first Christmas in Washington. We wish we could have been closer to family but with the store open for it's first Christmas, it was too busy for us to get away.
We love you all! Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas Eve!

The family and I spent our Christmas Eve over at Dickeys. The boys and I went  over in the evening since it was pretty slow and only a few customers were trickling in to pick up their pre-ordered Holiday feasts or eat delicious BBQ for Christmas Eve.  The boys ate their Mac & Cheese and ham while I dug into a delicious baked potato and fixings smothered in brisket (I've been craving these a lot lately!)

Our friends, the Pixtons, come in with their family for dinner and we got to wish them a Merry Christmas before heading to our banquet room for a Christmas Party with our employees. They are all awesome people and brought some seriously good appetizers and snacks. It was fun talking with them and the boys had a blast running wild with the other little boy there and stuffing their faces with cookies.

After the party, I took the boys home to get ready for bed. They each got to open one present on Christmas Eve.
It was pajamas! Not just any pajamas though, these are fun Disney PJs that they can bring on our trip to Disney World in January.
Then, they carefully helped me count out cookies, carrots, and candy canes for Santa and his reindeer and a glass of milk.
We snuggled on Ethan's bed and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" together and checked Santa's progress on SantaTracker while waiting for Dan to get home from the store. They were very excited to hear the Santa was near Texas so their cousins would be getting presents soon. Once Dan came home, we said our family prayers, kissed the boys good night, and promised that they could come and get us as soon as they woke up the next morning so we could see if Santa came!

Christmas Party and Meeting Santa!

Our ward hosted a pretty wonderful Christmas party with dinner, entertainment and Santa Claus. Dan was still in Texas with his family so I took the boys over so they could meet Santa and they were so excited! They eagerly waited in line with the other kids.
When it was their turn, Austin immediately ran up to him and crawled onto his knee.
When Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas, Austin promptly said, "Mickey Mouse!" and stuck his tongue out for his normal picture pose.
Ethan was so excited he kept trying to run forward before Austin left. Santa gave Ethan a big hug and asked him what he wanted and Ethan started chattering a mile a minute! He told me afterwards what he asked for: A big boy bike with training wheels, a Rescuebot Transformer, and a toolbelt.
Family picture with Santa before heading off to make crafts with the other children.
One of the boys babysitters, Aubree was helping the kids make their Santa snack and craft. Austin made his and then quickly ate it.
Then we went back to sit down for dinner and the entertainment. They had singing, Minute-to-Win-It games for the YM/YW leaders and lots of caroling.
It was a very fun Christmas Party and the boys talk about how they met Santa all the time! Ethan was very concerned though when Santa left for the night about how he would get back to the North Pole. He kept asking where the reindeer were and if the church had a chimney. It was hilarious!
So excited for Christmas with these sweet boys!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Since this is our first holiday season with our Dickey's Barbecue Pit open, we can't leave to visit family for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Instead, our family came to us!

My mother-in-law, Gloria flew up from Texas to spend three weeks with us and my parents, brother Spencer, and sister Lisa and her family came up for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to have family in town!
We got to show Gloria our store and ended up eating there a lot!
The boys loved having their Grandma G at our house to play with and spent lots of time showing her all their toys.
I got to have some fun time with her too as we went and got mani/pedi's!
She helped us decorate our Christmas tree and put up the rest of our Christmas decorations.

My family trickled into town right before Thanksgiving and it was a bit of a mad house with all the cousins running around.  My Dad got a workout from playing with all the kids. Grandpa  Foster made an excellent pony ride.
Austin crawled into my brother, Spencer's lap and made him show him videos from Spencer's phone.
One Austin's favorite things was to sit with his older cousin Tucker and watch him play games on his tablet.
We ended up holding Thanksgiving dinner over at the store since it already had most everything (drinks, ice cream, the meat, sides, utensils, etc.) and seating for so many. I made some pumpkin pies, Gloria made a delicious apple crisp, and my sister Lisa made awesome sweet potatoes. We hauled everything over there, set up, turned on football on the 70" TV in the banquet room and ate until we were too stuffed to move!

We attempted to get all the kids in a picture while smiling...not too bad. We were only missing Cole.
Ethan loved hanging out with his Grandpa!

It was so fun to host Thanksgiving and due to all the food provided by the store, it was pretty low key! No stress! Definitely my kind of Thanksgiving! I'm grateful we had so many family members able to make it up for the holiday!

Dan flew his Mom back to Texas when she left and got to visit with his siblings and their families as well. It turned out to be such a wonderful Thanksgiving!

It's A....

The boys came to my ultrasound appointment on November 11th when we found out that we're having.....

A GIRL!
She didn't want to move her hands away from her face in my ultrasound but we still got a look at her cute profile.
Needless to say, the boys are very, very happy! Ethan's wanted a sister since the beginning, Austin just wanted a baby (or a puppy) and Dan and I were a little surprised. We honestly thought it was going to be another boy since this pregnancy has gone much like Austin's pregnancy. Then again, I had two completely different experiences for Ethan and Austin's pregnancies so I guess I'm following the same unpredictability trend!

It took a second to sink in but we are ecstatic about having a girl!
Bring on the dresses, leggings, hairbows, and handbands!
Baby Girl is healthy and developing normally and still on track for an April 1st birthday!

Happy Halloween!

The best Buzz Lightyears on the block!
Austin wanted to be just like his big brother.
They had a lot of fun trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!
